About Tristan Meecham
Tristan Meecham is a talented Melbourne based actor, performer and theatre maker, whose work has been seen and presented around Australia and the world.
Tristan is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (Bachelor of Dramatic Arts, Acting) and Queensland University of Technology (Bachelor of Fine Arts, Visual Arts). At VCA, he was awarded the inaugural Richard Pratt Scholarship for Outstanding Acting Student and the George Fairfax Scholarship.
His performance credits include; Brendo, the lead role in the online dramedy series ‘Being Brendo’ co-staring Geoffrey Rush, Denise Scott and Judith Lucy (VAC/ X;Machine Productions), Flederick Clegg in The Collector (The Artisan Collective, Director Ben Pfeiffer) and Tinker in Cleansed (Fraught Outfit, Director Adena Jacobs).
Film and TV credits include: Pool Attendant in The Slap (Matchbox Pictures - ABC TV, Director Tony Ayres) Barman in Cut Snake (Matchbox Pictures, Director Tony Ayres) and Declan Canning in City Homicide (Channel 7 Director, David Cameron).
As an MC, Tristan has hosted numerous events and conferences for cultural and corporate clients including Arts Centre Melbourne, Bleach Festival Gold Coast, Brisbane Powerhouse, City of Darebin, City of Melbourne, National Palliative Care Conference, Midsumma Festival, The Substation, Sydney Festival, Metro Arts, National LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Conference, Vic Health, Victorian State Government Victorian Seniors Festival, Wheeler Centre and Woodford Folk Festival.
Tristan is the Artistic Director of All The Queens Men, a company that presents spectacular theatrical events that champions social equality. All The Queens Men their large-scale projects around the world at leading arts festivals including West Kowloon Cultural District (Hong Kong), Sydney Festival, Brisbane Festival, Taipei International Arts Festival, Ansan Street Arts Festival (South Korea), Anti Contemporary Arts Festival (Finland), National Theatre of Scotland, Dark Mofo (Tasmania).
ATQM projects include: The Coming Back Out Ball, a spectacular social event held at the Melbourne Town Hall celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) elders. LGBTI Elders Dance Club, a monthly social event for LGBTI elders; Congress, a citizens’ assembly in which diverse community members and professional wordsmiths collaborate to design and present political first speeches; and Fun Run, a riotous performance spectacle in Tristan runs a marathon on a treadmill live on stage supported by hundreds of performers from the local community.
He was also the co-producer and star of The Coming Back Out Ball Movie, a feature documentary that follows Tristan and LGBTI elders as they prepare for The Coming Back Out Ball. The film was selected as the Closing Night Gala of the 2018 Melbourne International Film Festival with a national cinema release scheduled for December 9.
